As the plot of the film progressed, laughter and applause broke out from time to time. This female-themed film produced in Shanghai and focusing on Shanghai stories not only made Chileans, who are thousands of miles away and have a very different cultural background, understand the story, but also resonate deeply with it emotionally.
Andrea Herrera, 26, said that Good Things not only brought joy, but also brought the two peoples closer psychologically. "Although we come from different cultural backgrounds, in this movie, we can see many common problems, such as single-parent families, children's education, emotional problems, etc., which have aroused strong emotional resonance."
Constanza Fuentes, who just graduated from college, also praised the film. She truly felt the unique charm of the city of Shanghai from the film, and felt that some places in Shanghai were similar to Santiago, which made her feel very familiar.

Chilean audiences share their impressions of the opening film "Good Things"
"Good Things" not only moved the audience with its wonderful story and delicate humanistic care, but also the subtitle translation was a highlight. Since the Spanish in Chile is different from that in other regions, the movie subtitles deliberately used the local very authentic "pololo" to mean "boyfriend", which fully demonstrated the sincerity of the organizers. The organizers specially invited Chilean scholars who have lived in Shanghai for a long time and are proficient in Chinese to translate the subtitles, with the aim of reducing the language barrier as much as possible so that Chilean audiences can better understand the connotation of the film.

Fernando Reyes Mata, Chairman of the Chilean Chinese Film Association and former Chilean Ambassador to China, spoke highly of the development of Chinese films. He said that Chinese films have continuously made breakthroughs in technology and have made a qualitative leap in presenting contemporary, worldly and global topics. Telling stories and making movies are effective ways to vividly interpret the concept of "people-oriented". Chile can also learn from this experience and present global issues vividly through movies based on the concerns of its people. He believes that the current series of global challenges have brought new opportunities for Chile and China in the joint creation of films. In the future, the two sides should further strengthen cooperation, closely connect the two ends of the world, and launch more high-quality film works.

The film screening venue for this week is the Chilean National Film Archive
In addition to Good Things, this film week will also screen outstanding Chinese films such as Young Lion 2, The Legend of the Gods Part 1: Chaoge Fengyun, Burning City, Riding the Wind and Waves, and Flying Life from May 8 to 11, showing the unique charm of Chinese films in all aspects. In addition, a China-Chile Film Dialogue was held, where eight professionals from the film industries of the two countries conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as Sino-foreign co-productions, film restoration, and film industry incentive policies, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation in the field of China-Chile film.

Niu Qingbao, Chinese Ambassador to Chile, pointed out in his speech at the opening ceremony that China and Chile, as important film producers, have made unique contributions to the development of the world's film industry. The holding of this film week coincides with the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Chile. It not only allows Chilean audiences to feel the unique charm of Shanghai as the birthplace of Chinese film, but also helps to deepen the friendship between the two peoples and promote the exchange and mutual learning of Chinese and Chilean cultures.
Ma Xiaohong, president of the Shanghai International Cultural Communication Association, also said that this year marks the 130th anniversary of the birth of world cinema and the 120th anniversary of the birth of Chinese cinema. These six excellent Chinese films have been selected for screening in Chile. It is hoped that Chilean audiences will be able to appreciate the stories of the times told by Chinese films and feel Shanghai's open and inclusive urban spirit. Taking this event as an opportunity, the cooperation between China and Chile in film co-production, cultural and tourism integration and other aspects will be pushed to a new level.
This film week event is guided by the State Film Administration, hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Chile, the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage of Chile, and the Shanghai Film Administration, and co-organized by the Chilean National Film Archive, Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Industry Association, and Shanghai Film (Group) Co., Ltd.
